Privacy Policy

SheliCore is the companion app for SheliTouch and SheliGo, two CAN-bus dashboard products. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data. The short version: it doesn't collect any.

The short version

SheliCore talks directly to your own SheliTouch or SheliGo hardware over Bluetooth Low Energy. It has no internet access, no account system, no analytics, and no advertising. Every setting you configure is stored only on your phone. Nothing about you, your vehicle, or your engine data ever leaves your device.

Information we don't collect

SheliCore does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information, usage data, or vehicle/engine data, because it has no way to send anything anywhere. The app does not request internet access at all, since there is no server for data to go to.

No account or sign-in of any kind.
No analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
No location data. See "Bluetooth permissions" below for why Android's permission system mentions location even though this app never uses it.
No engine, vehicle, or CAN-bus data is ever transmitted off your phone.

Bluetooth permissions

SheliCore requests two Android permissions, both required only to connect to your own SheliTouch or SheliGo hardware over Bluetooth Low Energy:

BLUETOOTH_SCAN

Lets the app search for nearby SheliTouch/SheliGo devices to connect to. Declared with Android's neverForLocation flag, which means the app has told Android it will not, and cannot, use this permission to determine your location. Android enforces this at the system level.

BLUETOOTH_CONNECT

Lets the app open and maintain the Bluetooth connection to your hardware once found.

Neither permission is used for advertising identifiers, location tracking, or any purpose beyond talking to your own dashboard hardware.

Where your data lives

Display preferences, dashboard layouts, gauge styles, shift light stages, and every other setting you configure are stored locally on your phone using Android's standard app storage. None of it is backed up to a server we control, because no such server exists. Uninstalling the app removes this data along with it.

Third parties

SheliCore does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. It does not share data with anyone, because it does not collect any to share.

Children's privacy

SheliCore is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age. This is consistent with the rest of this policy, since it does not collect information from anyone at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it. Given the app's design, any future change would most likely be to clarify existing behavior rather than to introduce new data collection.
